The July 22, 2009 Total Solar Eclipse in China is the longest total solar eclipse in our lifetime, and the second longest in recorded history, next only to the June 20, 1955 eclipse in Manila.
Totality will last 5 min 8.6 sec in Shanghai and 5 min 27.8 sec in Wuhan. In 1955 totality was 6 min 1.0 sec in Manila and 7 min 6.3 sec in San Pablo, Laguna. The 2009 eclipse will not be surpassed in duration until June 13, 2132.
Why is this of importance you may ask? Well eclipses are known to have adverse affects on the Earth. As the Earth rotates beneath the tidal bulges, it attempts to drag the bulges along with it. A large amount of friction is produced which slows down the Earth's spin. The day has been getting longer and longer by about 0.0016 seconds each century.
Over the course of time this friction can have a noticeable effect. In other words, earthquakes.

"The Monster" he refers to could be the planet Nibiru, due to it emerging from behind the sun, during an eclipse it would be very visible.
And here is a passage from The Bible. "He who sitteth on the throne" could be Nibiru as well, as the lifeforms of that planet are said to be Satan and the demons of old.
